In the direction of Paysandú make a stop in the pretty town of Fray Bentos. Visit the former industrial district of Anglo, and its factory “Frigorifico l’Anglo”classified as a UNESCO historical heritagesite in July 2015. This factory manufactured the famous corned beef, a larger factory in all of South America in the 20th century.
When you arrive in Paysandú, don’t miss the main tourist attraction: the thermal springs. Walk along the rambla to the city port. In the Paysandú region, there are many activities to choose from, such as the Queguay waterfall, a walk in the forest Rincon of Perez or a visit to the Cueva del Tigre cave inhabited by vampire bats.

Head for Tacuarembó, this large northern city is full of surprises. While walking through the streets you will discover many paintings and frescoes on the city walls. Tacuarembó is a real open-air museum. We also recommend visiting the museum of the artist Carlos Gardel.
